My first day in Kaohsiung was hot, darn hot and that is an understatement! I checked the weather this morning about 9:00am and it was about 31 degrees. However the weather forecast added that it felt like 39 degrees. The heat in the afternoon got so hot that we both had to come home and rest. The weather here is so different to the weather we left behind in New Zealand.
Today, the Doctor and I spend the day organising our bits and pieces such as bank accounts, shopping for house stuff and visiting the Language school that I will be attending.
The time at the moment that I am writing this is about 10:00pm. We have just gotten home from doing a bit of supermarket shopping in the high class Japanese supermarket nearby. The shopping experience over here is very different from Australia and New Zealand.
Speaking of different experiences, I have not seen one other foreigner (apart from near the Language School). I have noticed a few looks by the locals, and I am sure there are hundreds more that I have missed, so I feel like a bit of novelty.
The other experience that I am still re-learning again is the traffic. People here drive on the right (as opposed to the left) side of the road. When Hector the Cat taught me to look to the left, look to the right, and look to the left again doesn't quite work here. The road vehicles, and I mean cars, scooters, cyclists, taxis and everyone else, they came from all directions. The only way to describe it is organised chaos.
Anyway, I better ready for bed as there is an exciting day tomorrow for me. Well everyday in Taiwan is exciting!
But just before I go, below are some photos of the apartment that the Doctor and I are renting.
Till next time, haveagoodone...

The Life for the younger generation.
Keep up the bloging enjoy it very much.
btw Like your apartment.
Love.
That an amazing view TP! The apartment seems adequate and clean and should be fine, if more compact than the place you left behind (Not so much to clean!!! lol). You made very good time on your journey. The heat sounds way too much though, but I guess you will become used to it.
Look forward to hearing more about your life, as you become accustomed to life there. AJ
looks a very nice apartment.
Do you get much traffic noise.
Exciting life
