Taiwan has a new visitor...

Since the massive Morakot typhoon that Taiwan had on Father's Day (8 Aug)last year, another typhoon has decided to visit Taiwan today.

On the image to the right, you will need t
o look at Taiwan's outline under the large white swirl cloud.

Sitting on in my apartment on the 14th floor, I can say that the wind sounds very strong as whistles past the exterior of my building.

When I looked out the window first thing this morning, I was surprised to see a scooter (Vespa) driving along the main along with a few taxis. I wonder if they missed the warning signs of the winds getting stronger as well as the constant coverage by all forms of the media.

However, when I look at my little weather watch icon on my computer, it shows wind speed of only 51.9 km/p. If I recall correctly, Melbourne has had winds stronger than that.

But anyway, I think today will be a good study day while I stay inside out of harms way.

Till next time, haveagoodone...
